OK, so here is my cx-2 with the homemade tail boom. In the image named "tail boom main mount" I drilled a hole slightly larger than the main shaft I used for the boom. You can see in the image that the hole is going into the servo mount. {{Box_Note|If you're planning on doing this yourself, after you have selected a shaft for your boom, test drill a hole into a scrap piece of plastic and test fit the shaft into the hole to make sure that it fits snuggly. Here i didn't use any type of bracket... I just simply super glued it into the servo mount using a gel type super glue.}}

Next, as seen in the image named "tail boom support brace", I drilled 2 holes the same diameter as the thin steel rod onto the outermost corner of the rear battery support. These holes are for the support brace to slide into; to help stabilize the main boom shaft. At the 2 ends that will be joined at these 2 holes you will need to make a small bend with the same type of bend as on the servo linkage arms. Before doing these 2 bends you may want to do the following step first to make sure they are pointing downward.

Now in the next image named "tail boom support brace 2" you can see that I made a little loop in the support brace that the main boom shaft slides into. You want this to be a tight squeeze onto the boom shaft to keep it from sliding freely. After completing the project, you can use this point of the brace to slide forward and backward to adjust the height of the boom and even glue it in place if you wish. I left mine unglued so that I can adjust it from time to time if needed. I just simply squeeze it to release the pressure on the shaft to slide it where I need it. After you get this into position on the shaft, you can insert the lower part of the support brace into the 2 holes on the rear battery support and use a bit of super glue to hold it.

In the last image named "v wing" I used some spare carbon fiber fins that go on the outer edges of the tail fin for one of my r/c cars, and used a small amount of hot glue to hold them in the V position while I applied the super glue to secure them. After the super glue dried I carefully scrapped the hot glue off with a razor knife and added more super glue to the areas where the hot glue was. A black sharpie may be needed to touch up the discoloration caused by the super glue.

I decided that I was going to use super glue on this build because it holds incredibly and I doubt that I'm going to be removing it from my heli. I hope that those of you that were interested in how I did this find this to be of some use, or maybe even inspire you to come up with a similar idea of your own!
